My father runs a hospitality wholesale business, and I grew up in the Westland, surrounded by entrepreneurs. I chose to study business administration, as the commercial side of the world appealed to me. That came as a surprise as law turned out to interest me most.

What intrigues me most is not the law itself, but the question behind it: why does this law exist? What problem was it meant to solve? Does it work that way in practice? That curiosity is still there. I use it every day for my clients.

Because of my background and my training in business administration, I understand what is going on within a business. Which choices seem logical but are legally vulnerable. Where risks lie that only become visible later. That dual perspective makes the difference when it matters.

As a corporate lawyer, I focus on commercial disputes and mergers and acquisitions. Counterparties who fail to pay, contracts that are challenged or transactions that require careful legal preparation and solid documentation. I also handle shareholder disputes and directors’ liability; matters where relationships within a company are under pressure.

I enjoy litigation. Getting deep into a case, staying sharper than the opposing party and putting forward the strongest argument. Not loud, but focused. I aim to win, and I commit fully to that.

Outside work, you will find me in the gym, at concerts or in the stands of the local football club. I also take an interest in politics and enjoy studying history. How have legal systems developed? What no longer works? Questions that also keep me sharp as a lawyer. Because understanding how laws come into being also means understanding how to use them.
