Directive 2006/123/EC was implemented in the Netherlands on 28 December 2009. This Directive, as well as the Legal Profession Regulations, apply to our firm and means we must inform our clients about a number of matters. You will find this information below. This information supplements our General Terms and Conditions and should be read in conjunction with them.

Description of the work
RWV Advocaten offers legal services in almost all areas of law in the form of advice, mediation and conducting legal proceedings.
Costs of the services
RWV does not work with fixed hourly rates. Every customer and every case is different, so we make clear and customised agreements about our costs. This could be an hourly rate, fixed rate, mixed fee, success fee and hybrid fees. When an instruction is accepted, a confirmation is sent containing a description of how we will invoice and an estimate of the costs if possible.

General Terms and Conditions
Our General Terms and Conditions apply to all our services. You will find these on our website. Our general terms and conditions are available in both Dutch and English and have been filed with the registry of the District Court of The Hague under number 9/2022.
Applicable law
Dutch law applies to every contract for services and all obligations arising from it. The District Court in The Hague has exclusive jurisdiction to hear related disputes.
Complaints
Section 46 Counsel Act: Lawyers are subject to disciplinary law in respect of any acts or omissions contrary to the care they should exercise as lawyers towards those whose interests they represent or should represent as such, in respect of infringements of the provisions of or pursuant to this Act and the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act, the regulations of the Dutch Bar and in respect of any act or omission that is not befitting of a good lawyer. In the first instance, disciplinary boards discipline lawyers and on appeal, also in the highest jurisdiction, the disciplinary court.
On our website, you will find our firm’s complaints procedure, which explains how a complaint can be submitted and how it will be handled. You can download the complaint form from our website and send it to our postal address or our general e-mail address. We will respond to complaints as soon as possible and make every effort to find a satisfactory solution.
Professional liability insurance
All our lawyers and counsel are covered by professional liability insurance, which has been taken out with AON Nederland, registered in Amsterdam. RWV Advocaten is insured for loss caused by errors made during the work up to an amount of EUR 10,000,000 per event. There is no geographic limitation of cover in the policy.
If for whatever reason, no payment is made under this insurance policy, any liability is limited to an amount of EUR 50,000 or, if the fee invoiced by RWV in the relevant case is higher, to that amount with a maximum of EUR 100,000. This is also stated in the general terms and conditions.
