When I was younger, I was attracted to the idea of studying hospitality, but after my first encounter with the law faculty I was immediately hooked. I discovered I have a strong passion for law and the legal profession. I love knowing what is legally possible and exploring the various ways to achieve optimal results for clients. My work revolves around my clients’ interests. I delve into their needs and involve them in every step of the strategy, so they know that I am by their side and serving their interests.
Family disputes often come with intense emotions. I understand and respect my clients’ feelings. My role is to help them find the necessary peace and clarity to identify and achieve solutions together.
My expertise encompasses divorces and related matters such as custody disputes, visitation arrangements, name changes, alimony and legal determination of paternity. Additionally, I am well-versed in inheritance law. I enjoy taking a deep dive into a case and uncovering what clients truly want, and then examining the legal possibilities.
I take a short, fast and direct approach to communication. I believe in responding promptly to questions and concerns, especially when – as is often the case in family law cases – the situation is emotionally charged. While I prefer to negotiate, I’m not a fan of endless discussions. If we can’t reach an agreement based on mutual understanding, I am also happy to present the case in court.
My children are a source of inspiration for me, particularly in my work. Being a mother myself helps me to understand the feelings, concerns and needs of other parents and to strive for solutions that are in the children’s best interests.
I previously spent more than seven years working at a law firm in Amsterdam, where besides family law I also handled lots of disqualification from driving cases. In early 2023, I made the transition to RWV Advocaten, primarily with a focus on family law and inheritance law – but I still have a strong interest in disqualification cases. The withdrawal of someone’s driving licence can have a significant impact on their life. In such cases, I am eager to support them with a clear strategy to regain their licence as soon as possible.
I enjoy being around people and spending time with friends and family. As a native of Brabant, I love socialising, dining out and parties. I played hockey for many years, but nowadays I stick to fitness, spinning and skiing.
